Eruditissimo Nobilissimo Domine

Schedulam, quam mihi dignatus es mittere, legi, magnasque
pro ejusdem communicatione ago gratias. Doleo quod mentem
tuam quam tamen credo te satis clare exposuisse non satis
assequi potuerim. Precor itaque ut ad haec pauca mihi respon:

Google "doleo quod mentem" gaf deze gelijksoortige maar langere brief van Spinoza van dezelfde dag (Google Books Benedicti de Spinoza Adnotationes ad Tractatum theologico-politicum. Ex ...).
English: Spinoza's letter to Leibniz, The Hague 9 November 1671.

Translation:
Very learned and noble Sir,
Thank you for your letter which I have read. I am sorry i could not convince you with my (so I thought) rather clear exposition. Please answer these few words. Your honour, All yours, B. despinoza

Google "doleo quod mentem" found this similar but much longer letter by Spinoza of the same day. (Google Books Benedicti de Spinoza Adnotationes ad Tractatum theologico-politicum. Ex ...)
