DescriptionSouth Building - LEnfant Plaza - Washington DC.jpg
English: Looking southeast across the plaza at the South Building which borders L'Enfant Plaza in Washington, D.C., in the United States. L'Enfant Plaza and L'Enfant Promenade were designed by I. M. Pei for developer William Zeckendorf in the early 1960s. Pei's partner, Araldo Cossutta, designed the North Building and South Building, two office buildings which border the plaza. These were constructed in the late 1960s. The railings show the 2011 pedestrian entrances to "La Promenade," an underground shopping mall and food court; these were modified in 2014.
