Description

"Sophistication" by Harry Watrous painted around 1908 and exhibited that year as "Cup of Tea, Cigarette, and She" at the annual exhibition of the National Academy of Design in New York, where it sold for $1000. (Source: American Art News, Vol. 6, No. 27, Apr. 18, 1908, p. 3.) It is now in the Haggin Museum in Stockton, California.
