Some sculptural features of the Panama-Pacific Exposition. Falling from the top downward, left to right, these are: The Setting Sun, Court of the Universe; Harvest, Court of the Four Seasons; Bull Group, Court of the Four Seasons; Autumn, Court of the Four Seasons; Fountain of Energy, South Gardens. Pacific Service Mag.\zine 331 at the foot of Scott street you find your-self opposite the multi heralded Tower of Jewels, the gateway to the central court of the Exposition, the Court of the Universe. In the open space of the South Gardens, between you and this Tower ofJewels, stands a striking piece of Exposition symbolism, a lofty fountain and figure representing Energy, the victor of the Isthmian way. This reveals an Homeric youth forcing his way on horseback through gushing streams of water. It is the work of A. Stirling Calder, the acting chief of sculpture.
