English: Photo of the execution of Ruth Snyder in the electric chair at Sing Sing prison on January 12, 1928. It was made secretly by photographer Tom Howard with a miniature camera that he had strapped to his ankle. Snyder and her lover were both executed for the murder of Snyder's husband, Albert, in 1927.
Renewal searches were done in artwork and in periodicals for the years 1955 and 1956. There were no listings for Tom Howard or the New York Daily News in either category. There's no evidence of copyright continuing on the photo.
