| Description | Snowy Plover (Charadrius nivosus) birds on Morro Strand State Beach, opposite the Cloisters City Park or the Morro Bay, CA High School, 23 April 2010. Photo by Michael L. Baird, mike [at} mikebaird d o t com, flickr.bairdphotos.com; Canon 1D Mark III, Canon 600mm f/4.0 Lens, and for most shots in this set I used a Canon EF 1.4X II Extender Telephoto Accessory, and, for a closer minimum focusing distance, a Canon EF 12 II Extension Tube For EOS Digital Cameras, with no Circular Polarizer, on Gitzo GZGT5540LS tripod with Wimberley Gimbal Head II, and a Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash for Canon EOS Digital SLR Cameras mounted on an extension arm 6 inches above and forward of the camera’s hot shoe .
