Washington architect Snowden Ashford (1866-1927).

Ashford designed many of the buildings erected by the D.C. government ca. 1895-1920, including the beautiful Engine Company 12 fire house and the [#//www.nps.gov/history/nr/feature/afam/2004/dcschools.htm Crummell School].
