DescriptionSnow Hill Tunnel and Moor Street Station - geograph.org.uk - 556977.jpg
English: Snow Hill Tunnel and Moor Street Station Nearly 20 years after the last train ran, the railway from Moor Street Station through Snow Hill tunnels was re-instated.
This picture was taken shortly before the line re-opened on the occasion of an open day for charity, organised by the Birmingham Evening Mail (hence the poster) during which the public were allowed to walk through Snow Hill Tunnel from Moor Street Station.
These through platforms were newly constructed in the style of the time since the original Moor Street station had terminal platforms. During 2005-6 Moor Street station received a massive refurbishment and a fantastic job has been done to match the style and paintwork of buildings and furniture to blend in with the early 1900s structure of the adjacent original station.
