Summary

Description
English: Smyril M/F is a Faroese ferry, which is on route between Tórshavn, the capital, and Suðuroy, the southernmost island. Smyril has 2-3 daily departures from Tórshavn and the same from Krambatangi ferry port on Suðuroy. This photo was taken from Øravíkarlíð near Krambatangi on the southern side of Trongisvágsfjørður. The village at the bottom of the fjord is Trongisvágur. A part of Tvøroyri is visible, the two villages have grown together. Smyril was built in 2005. There have been other ferries with the same name. The first ferries by that name had a different spelling: Smiril. The pronunciation is the same though. This ferry is much larger than the prior Suduroy ferry. The ferry can take up to 900 people and 200 cars or 30 trailers.
Føroyskt: Smyril M/F er føroyskt ferðamannaskip, sum siglir millum Tórshavn og Krambatanga í Suðuroynni 2-3 ferðir hvønn dag. Smyril varð bygdur í Spania í 2005. Áðrenn henda Smyril hava aðrir verið. Tann fyrsti Smyril kom uleið 1899, hann varð skrivaður við fyrr i Smiril. Nýggj ferjulega varð bygd á Krambatanga, tá nýggi Smyril kom. Áðrenn tað legði Smyril at á Drelnesi, sum er eitt sindur longri inni, men á somu síðu av Trongisvágsfirði sum Drelnes.
