Description
English: Misleading representation of the fhe finishing phase of Slaget på Reden painted by Christian August Lorentzen. Crown Prince Frederik standing at the headland at Kastellet surrounded by his staff at 3 o'clock in the afternoon when the boat with Lord Nelson's messangers arrives. The sunlight hits the white flag in the centre of the picture. The national myth - that it was the British who had to ask for a cease of fire - is already in place.
