English: The Sint-Pieters- en Pauluskerk (Saint peter's and Paul's Church) is a former Jesuit Church in Mechelen. The pulpit was sculpted by Hendrik Frans Verbruggen (April 30, 1654 in Antwerp – December 12, 1724, Antwerp).
The allegorical figure for Africa. The pulpit rests on a globe carried by land animals; allegories for the four known continents are sitting on the globe:
Nederlands: De Sint-Pieters- en Pauluskerk is een voormalige Jezuïetenkerk op de Veemarkt in Mechelen. De preekstoel, een werk van Hendrik Frans Verbruggen (ca.1700) toont in de vorm van allegorische figuren de verspreiding van het Geloof over vier werelddelen.
De man stelt Afrika voor. De voet is een wereldbol die op kruipdieren rust; op de bol zitten de vier toen bekende werelddelen, in de gedaante van personen en kenmerkende dieren
