Created in POV-Ray. Process involved model created in kpovmodeler, then export and reverse engineering from plain numbers to variables, to allow this scalability in number of windings, poles, laminates etc. The animation is rendered on 3 Linux machines in about 11 minutes with customized own clustering software GRC. Assembled with ImageMagick into animated GIF. Further reduction of size on expense of quality and number of colors is possible through color reduction in GIMP or Adobe ImageReady.
