DescriptionSign of the Old Swan Hotel - geograph.org.uk - 1197860.jpg
English: Sign of the Old Swan Hotel. This white swan, gorged and chained, has obviously been borrowed from heraldry. The ancient family of De Bohun used such a badge, alluding to their alleged descent from the legendary Swan Knight (Lohengrin). It passed to King Henry V. from his mother Mary de Bohun.
The sign can be seen to the right of the gateway in the picture of 1197866.
