Beschreibung der einzelnen Bauten des Schlosses im Uhrzeigersinn:
Vordergrund, Mitte – Torhaus „Halber Mond“ (1890 abgerissen);
Linker Bildrand – „Wittgensteiner Flügel“ (später erweitert, erhalten);
Mitte Hintergrund – Hauptflügel mit Fürstengruft (erhalten. Dahinter Dachgiebel und Turm der Martinikirche);
Rechts anschließend – „Kurländerflügel“ und „Dicker Turm“ (beide erhalten);
Am rechten Rand des Schlosshofs, vor dem „Dicken Turm“ – Ballhaus und Marstall (im Zweiten Weltkrieg zerstört);
Rechts im Bild – ein Turm mit Spitzhaube bisher ungeklärten Namens und Bedeutung.
