Neminath, or Aristaneminatha, is the twenty-second
tirthankara, whose symbol is a conch shell. His name likens him to
a jeweled wheel, whose rim (nemi) is unblemished (arista, a word related to the Greek "Aristocrat").
The conch symbol connects him to Vishnu; according to legend,
Neminath is a relative of
Krishna, Vishnu's avatar.
