Rain and shell frame perspectives of proper (red) and geometric (blue) accelerations for an object that rolls off a cliff. Note that the rain frame perspective is more like that of a fly ball, which for convenience tops out just as the ball reaches the edge of the cliff, than the perspective of a raindrop per se.
