Muhammad bin Yusuf Ahli Shirazi (1454-1535) was a master poet who worked at the Safavid courts. He died in Shiraz and is buried close to the tomb of the great poet Hafiz. This is an early copy of his work, written within 50 years of his death. The elegant illumination of the frontispiece is particularly fine indicating that this manuscript was produced for a princely patron.
