Store Web page states: "published in 1918 by the Broadway Music Corporation (New York), is titled 'Good Bye Alexander, Good bye Honey Boy'. It was written by the team of Creamer and Layton. The cover illustration was drawn by E. E. Walton. [...] music was written about African-American soldiers going off to fight in the First World War. The song begins:
"Alexander Cooper, was a colored trooper
With his regiment he marched away
Bands were gaily playing - colored folks were swaying
On Emancipation Day."
"[...] The sheet music [...] measures about 10-5/8 x 13-5/8 inches. [...] a former owner wrote their name in ink at the top left over the word “Good” in the title, [...] The music [...] is printed on the insides of the covers; there was never a cover sheet."
