The temple was closed and destroyed after the division of the Subcontinent in 1947. There were many idols before 1947 as per a local old man some idols were taken by Hindus when they were leaving for India and some were taken by pilgrims who were used to come from India and Pakistan before the '70s, after that it became a hinted place. The idols of Lord Shiva installed at the ancient temple had disappeared gradually as they had been vandalized several times, especially post-Babri Masjid demolition.
