Decorative and Useful Illumination This picture illustrates one of the most beautiful andotherwise satisfactory methods of lighting — semi - indirectillumination with Alba Bowls. Part of the light is reflected to the ceiling and in turn reflectedagain to all other parts of the room. The rest of the light isdiffused directly through the bowl to the lower part of the room. The resulting illumination is soft, even and agreeable to theeyes with just enough shadow to aid in distinguishing objectsreadily. Illumination of this sort shows the furniture and furnishingsof the room to full advantage and is in itself extremely beautifulwithout being obtrusive. Handsome at all times—by dayor night.
