Summary

Description
English: Senate House, Malet Street An overwhelming art-deco building housing the administrative offices of the University of London. It was used by the BBC in a 1950s transmission of George Orwell's 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' to depict the Ministry of Truth where the novel's main character, Winston Smith, works. It has been rumoured that the Gestapo earmarked the building for its headquarters in the event of a successful German invasion of Britain in 1940. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senate_House_(University_of_London)
