Summary

Description Selo Nacional do Império do Brasil. Era um selo usado como forma de relevo nos documentos oficiais do Império do Brasil. O uso de selo em documentos oficiais já vem desde o período do Império do Brasil em que se usava o selo em carimbo de relevo no formado do brasão de armas imperiais contendo envoltório geralmente com dizeres as vezes em latim e também em português sobre o imperador ,por exemplo: Pedro II, Imperador constitucional do Brasil ou Pedro II - defensor perpétuo do Brasil, é o que se constata ao estudar documentos assinados pelos Imperadores Pedro I e Pedro II, pela regente Isabel e até no período regencial.
