English: Sediment core from the South Atlantic, 13 m in length (PS2492-2, position 43°10.40′S 4°03.30′W / 43.17333°S 4.055°W, water depth 4207 m). Colour variations reflect changing sedimentary conditions and are synchronous with the Quaternary climatic cycles. Lighter colours indicate a higher amount of microfossils and are related to warmer periods in this record spanning the last 800 ka.
Русский: Колонка длиной 12,98 метров (номер PS2492-2), полученная 19.12.1993 в результате бурения дна на глубине 4207 м под водой НИС «Поларштерн» в Южной Атлантике (точка с координатами 43°10.40′S 4°03.30′W / 43.17333°S 4.055°W) во время экспедиции ANTARKTIS-XI/2, проходившей в декабре 1993 — январе 1994 гг. Цветовые оттенки отражают изменения условий осадкообразования и совпадают с климатическими циклами четвертичного периода. Более светлые тона указывают на большое количество микроскопических окаменелостей и соответствуют более тёплым периодам охватываемого колонкой промежутка в 800 тыс. лет. Хранится в Институте полярных и морских исследований им. Альфреда Вегенера. |
