English: Original caption: "One of the main business streets in the Japanese Colony, Seattle". This is looking west from the Northwest corner of 5th Ave & Main Streets. The Oriental American Bank Building is in the foreground. The brick building just beyond the alley is labelled as the "Joss House, Chinese lodgings" on the 1904 Sanborn map. Nothing in this photo survives; the remaining ground floor of the building on the far left, much altered, stood until recently, and is now the site of the Hirabayashi Place apartments.
