A sign on the corner store says "Drugs". A sign over the awning of the next store says "Chicago Clothing Co." The arch over the main entrance says "Hotel Butler".
The lower two stories of the building at the northwest corner of Second and James still stand as of 2007; the upper portion was lost in the 1930s; it has since been replaced by a multi-storey parking lot.
