English: PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The 53rd Space Operations Squadron conducted its activitation ceremony at Peterson SFB Colorado 29 June, 2022. The ceremony, officiated by Space Delta 8 Commander, U.S. Space Force (USSF) Colonel Matthew Holston, introduced the Delta's newest squadron by welcoming 53 SOPS first commander, USSF Lt Col. Susan Rogers. Rogers' duty is to oversee the daily operations of the only Department of Defense unit that conducts payload and transmission control for the defense satellite communications (SATCOM) system and wideband global SATCOM satellite constellations.
