English: Before Sarajevo had electricity (which first began in Semizovac near the city in 1891), the city's tram network began operations on January 1st, 1885 in the early morning serving as a test provided for the further planning of expanding the Vienna Tram network which began in 1865. Following electrification from 1891 to 1895, the first electric tram built and provided by Siemens arrived and began operations in Sarajevo on May 3rd, 1895. This is the oldest surviving image of the fully depicted wagon powered by horses in Sarajevo. This was taken near the old train station building which no longer exists.
