Sold for: £1400 "English School, circa 1800". Included in the same sale were similar oval miniatures of her parents: catalogue entry: "Portraits of William Dunn (d. 1831) half-length, in blue, seated; and his wife Jane Gardner (d. 1831) half-length, seated, in a black hat, and their daughter Sarah Dunn Gardner (d. 1858) half-length, seated, in white, holding a rose oil on board (3) 15 x 12.5cm Footnote: By the marriage of William Dunn and Jane Gardner, their only daughter Sarah married in 1807 the 3rd Marquess Townshend. As that marriage was not consummated Sarah Townshend, though seeking a divorce, then married bigamously in 1809 John Margetts (d. 1831) a brewer of St Ives, by whom she had a son John (1811-1908). Provenance: By descent from the sitters to the present owner"
