Description
English: In his right hand this apostle is holding the knife used to flay him alive. At his feet, held in chains, is the grotesque figure of Astaroth, whose temptation he managed to overcome. His white tunic and cloak might be in keeping with Christian tradition, although some scholars think that this use of a single color due to the fact that the work was not completed.
