DescriptionSample tiling of an array for storage in rasdaman.png
English: This picture shows two examples of tilings in the rasdaman Array Database System. A tiling is a partitioning of a (multi-dimensional) array into sub-arrays which are handy for storing and loading on by rasdaman server. On the left-hand side, a sample two-dimensional tiling is shown, on the right-hand side a 3-D one. Both show that, in rasdaman, tilings do not have to be aligned on grids.

This collage has been produced by me using MS-PPT originally, and then a screenshot has been taken. The left (2-D tiling) I have done myself in PPT, too, while the right-hand side is a vector graphics visualization generated from our rasdaman system.
