Description
English: Aboard SS Stevens, showing students' room with portholes.
  • SS Stevens was formerly cruise liner SS Exochorda of the New "4 Aces" fleet of American Export Lines
  • The room depicted is room 222, port side on "A" deck.
  • The room number on SS Exochorda was A122.
  • The dresser containing twelve drawers (four drawers to the right are off the frame) was original furniture on Exochorda.
  • This room slept three people on Exochorda — two in roll-up berths and one in a sofa berth. The sofa berth was removed and replaced with the student's desk, below the portholes.
  • The lamp shown (black base with lamp shade) was original furniture on Exochorda and was fixed in place on the dresser. A second lamp of the same type is off the frame, to the right.
  • The image was scanned from the original Kodachrome 25 (Daylight) 35mm film image.
