| Description |
English: View of Winslow Junction on the Southern Railroad of New Jersey in Winslow Township, New Jersey. Looking northeast towards the end-of-track. The Vineland Railway built the rail line in the 1860s southward to Vineland, the current terminus of the SRNJ. (Vineland Railway was later leased by the New Jersey Southern Railroad, which itself was succeeded by the Central Railroad of New Jersey and Conrail). SRNJ locomotive no. 1801, a model U18B built by General Electric, is on a siding, with rolling stock acquired by SRNJ from various railroads. In the middle ground is a trestle with coal hoppers on the Beesley Point Secondary line of Conrail Shared Assets Operations. (A connecting track to SRNJ is located to the right, outside of this photo.) In the distance is a trestle for the Atlantic City Line of New Jersey Transit. |
