Summary

Description
English: Southern Railway third rail electric locomotive No. 75S, pictured at the Locomotion railway museum in Shildon, County Durham. These vehicles were part of the original wooden stock bought in 1898 by the London and South Western Railway for the Waterloo & City Railway (now the Waterloo & City line, part of the London Underground). They passed to Southern on grouping in 1923, and weren't withdrawn until 1940. One of these power cars would be placed at each end of a train, allowing it to be driven from either end.
