Summary

Description
English: The soldiers line off.

Almost fifteen hundred soldiers and officers and 300 military horses, performed precision drill and pageantry to music by the Household Division Bands & Corps of Drums. They were watched by 5,000 spectators on Horse Guard’s Parade and hundreds more in The Mall. The Soldiers were on parade in the traditional ceremonial uniforms of the Household Cavalry, Royal Horse Artillery, and Foot Guards. They and many of their comrades were up most of the night making final preparations to horses, Guns and uniforms to ensure they looked immaculate and the Parade went smoothly.

Today’s Colonel’s Review was the last formal inspection of the Household Division before The Queen’s Birthday Parade, more popularly known as Trooping the Colour, when the Queen’s Colour is “Trooped” in front of Her Majesty The Queen and all the Royal Colonels.

This year, the Colour being trooped is that of Number 7 Company Coldstream Guards. They were joined on Parade today by The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, Nijmegen Company Grenadier Guards, 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, F Company Scots Guards, The Irish Guards and The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery.
