English: BATTLE WAS FOUGHT IN JUNE 1777 WHEN BRITISH AND HESSIAN TROOPS UNDER CORNWALLIS ENGAGED AMERICAN TROOPS UNDER LORD STIRLING. AMERICANS WERE OUTNUMBERED AND FORCED TO RETREAT. THE PICTURE IS FROM THE SITE OF THE ENGAGEMENT ALONG OAK TREE ROAD WHICH WAS IN THE CENTER OF THE BATTLE
THERE ARE THREE SITES IN THE DISTRICT. ONE IS NOW A GOLF COURSE AND ONE IS A FARM. NEITHER HAS ANY CONTRIBUTING STRUCTURES WHICH WERE PRESENT AT THE BATTLE. THEY SHOW ONLY THE GOLF COURSE (WITH A MONUMENT NEAR THE ENTRANCE) AND FARM WITH WOODS. THE SITE AT OAK TREE ROAD HAS AN OPEN AREA WITH A VISITOR PATH AND INTERPRETIVE PLAQUES WHICH INTERPRET THE BATTLE. THERE ARE NO STRUCTURES FROM THE TIME OF THE BATTLE HERE EITHER
