Summary

Description Two U.S. Navy Sikorsky SH-3A Sea King helicopters (BuNo 151552, 152107) from helicopter anti-submarine squadron HS-5 Night Dippers in 1967. HS-5 was assigned to Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 54 (CVSG-54) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Essex (CVS-9), visible in the distance. Essex operated in the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea from January to August 1967 and visited Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Italy, Malta, and Spain. The photo was probably taken off the Netherlands, as the cruiser visible is Hr.Ms. De Zeven Provinciën (C802).
