| Description | Deployment of the baseline transducers of a PILOT short baseline (SBL) acoustic positioning system at Cape Evans, Antarctica. The baseline transducers (B, C, D) are lowered through small holes in the ice. The transducers are connected by cables to the junction box (A). As SBL precision depends on baseline transducer spacing, the widest possible spacing permitted by the cables is used. |
