De hiërarchie binnen de groep is aangegeven doordat de regentessen zittend zijn weergegeven en de binnenmoeders staand. De dame geheel links is gezien haar leeftijd ongetwijfeld Lysbeth Hendricksdr Haeck (1559-1638). Zij was regentes van het Spinhuis van 1599 tot aan haar dood in 1638, het jaar waarin dit portret is gemaakt. De andere dame is Styntje Thomas, regentes van 1625 tot 1645.
