English: Original description reads "Hackworth 0-6-0 No.25 "Derwent" (with a tender each end) built in 1845 by W & A. Kitching for the Stockton & Darlington Railway. It passed to the North Eastern Railway in 1863 and when withdrawn in 1869 and was sold to Pease & Partners for construction of the Waskerley Resevoir. The NER bought it for preservation in 1898 and it was eventually put on display in Darlington Station, where this (scanned) photograph was taken with a Kowa SET in 07/72."
