Description
English: Picture taken from the July 25, 1931 Messenger of J.F. Rutherford ("Judge Rutherford") relaxing next to the fireplace in Beth Sarim, his estate in San Diego, California.
  • The mansion was built in 1929 for the occupancy of the expected resurrection of Old Testament prophets ("princes"). At the time, Rutherford was president of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (Jehovah's Witnesses). Copyright for the Messenger was not renewed and picture is in the public domain. Picture was scanned from original magazine.
