Description
English: The top diagram shows Ernest Rutherford's 1919 observation of the ejection of the as-yet-unnamed proton and Rutherford's interpretation of the reaction process as a disintegration process. The bottom diagram shows Patrick Blackett's 1925 observation and interpretation of the reaction process as an integration process and the transmutation of nitrogen to oxygen.
