Summary

Description
English: 19th Century Jersey City windmill of Isaac Edge. This landmark of old Jersey City, seemingly symbolic of Jersey City's Dutch heritage, was actually built by an English immigrant, Isaac Edge. It was located on the shores of the Hudson at the site of what is now Exchange Place, and was in operation from 1815 to 1839. During October, 1910 Jersey City celebrated the 250th Anniversary of its founding as the town of Bergen by the Dutch in 1660. This is one of a series of commemorative postcards, many attributed to "Bergen Camera Exchange," depicting historic scenes and places.
