Summary

Description
English: Aerial photograph taken from a Royal Navy Wildcat Helicopter of Russian Navy 310 Perekop, a Smolmy Class training ship used to train Russian Naval Cadets.

The Smolnyy class of training ships were built for the Soviet Navy in the late 1970s.

The Soviet designation was Project 887. Two ships are operated by the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Navy.

The ships were designed to provide seagoing training facilities for the Soviet Navy. The ships have accommodation for 30 instructors and 300 cadets.

They have a basic armament for self-defence and patrol duties which includes 4x 76mm (3”in) Guns housed in two twin turrets and 2 twin 30mm anti-aircraft guns.
