Description
English: Rupert Brooke statue (2), Rugby Rupert Brooke was born, raised and educated in Rugby. He was a friend of the Bloomsbury poets and is best known for his war poems. He died of septicaemia and is buried in an olive grove on the island of Skyros, Greece. This statue stands in Jubilee Gardens [1] in Rugby. The inscription reads "Rupert Brooke / 1887-1915 / If I should die think only this of me / That there's some corner of a foreign field / That is forever England"
