Summary

Description
English: Rudolf Procházka (* 1 September 1918 Písek - 27 March 1989 Brno) was a forester by profession. After the German occupation of Bohemia and Moravia (in March 1939) he illegally left the Protectorate for Poland. During World War II he joined the Czech and Slovak Legion in Poland and spent 18 months in internment as a prisoner of war in the Soviet Union. Eventually he joined the 2nd Czechoslovak Foreign Resistance and took part in combat in various theatres of war around the world (Middle East, Syria, North Africa) and as a deck gunner-radar operator in the Royal Air Force (RAF) in Great Britain. After World War II and his return to Czechoslovakia, he served in the army until 1948, when he was discharged as a "Western soldier" after February 1948. He returned to his original profession as a forester and occasionally published in the magazine of the State Forests in Brno. Photo was digitally modified (enlarged).
