Description
English: Roman coin; struck silver denarius of Nero dating to AD 67-68. Jupiter reverse. Sear notes that this reverse is “Referring, in all probability, to Nero’s deliverance from the conspiracy of C. Calpurnius Piso in AD 65”.

Obv. Laureate head of emperor right. Note that in this example the ribbons of the laurel extend over the emperor’s neck, which is unusual. NERO CAESAR /AVGVSTVS Rev. Jupiter seated, left, holding thunderbolt and sceptre IVPPITER / CVSTOS
