English: Bronze statue of elegant lady seated on a broad padded chair, legs crossed at the ankles, a book in her hands and a small pile of books by the chair. The statue is mounted on a rough cube of pink granite, with several bronze pieces resembling sheets of notepaper clinging to the sides. On one is her name and titles, with a brief list of some of her illustrious positions. The other gives some details of the statue's creation and unveiling.
Janette Moore is here credited as sculptor, but elsewhere John Woffinden is named. His Mylor foundry was certainly responsible for the lost wax casting.
