English: Painting by Roger Winter, Prescience, (oil on linen, 60” x 48”, 2020). The image illustrates the collage-influenced narrative mode Roger Winter began exploring in the 1960s, a style characterized by complex juxtapositions, references to key events in his life, and the sense that the works contain deeper meaning. Prescience depicts symbols, a figure, and a dog against flat expanses of color. This piece and similar works have been exhibited in prominent galleries and museums in the United States, discussed in a monograph and numerous press publications, and many have been acquired by major museums and prominent corporate and private collections.
