Summary

Description

Rinodina oleae Bagl.

Image location: Cordão dunar Consolação-Peniche, Portugal

So far the only observations I have made of Rinodina oleae were in this location, at a distance of about 500 meters from the place of this one. The habitat is similar, the interface of the dunes with firm soil, where some shrubs constitute the vegetation (see https://mushroomobserver.org/image/show_image/614306). The specimens of Rinodina grew on the branches of a fallen big shrub. As lichen partners there were Ramalina spp. and many Lecanora, making the identification difficult because some of the Lecanora spp. are very similar to R. oleae. In observation 239739 I took R. oleae for a Lecanora; I hope this time do not be the reverse.
