Description
English: During World War II, BGen Richard H. Jeschke was awarded the Legion of Merit for helping to plan the invasion of Normandy, France (1 June to 1 July 1944). Although the Marine Corps is best known for its actions in the Pacific during the war, the Corps did have a small presence in Europe as well.
